Uses A Single-Ingredient Plant-Based Protein
Ready In About 5 Minutes
A quick breakfast isn't hard to find.
For example, you can make a pop-tart in under 5 minutes!
But to make a quick and nutrient-dense breakfast is the goal and this vegan smoothie is a winner!
Tt's super easy to make with a Vitamix and it's ready to drink or take on-the-go in about 5 minutes.
Made With Only 4 Clean, Real Food Ingredients
This Clean Eating Acai Berry and Banana Immunity Smoothie is a nice change of pace from the many different varieties of green smoothies.
It's loaded with antioxidants from wild blueberries and the organic superfood "acai berry" that contains a good source of healthy omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9 fats.
You'll love how this plant-based smoothie is made with only 4 clean, real food ingredients and naturally sweetened.
For example, frozen acai berry smoothie pack, banana, almond milk, and hemp protein.
My healthy smoothie recipe is plant-based, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, no refined sugar, paleo-friendly and Medical Medium compliant.
How To Make Acai Berry and Banana Smoothie: Step-by-Step Instructions
Here is how to make this recipe and I'll show you with step-by-step instructions below.
Step 1: Add All Ingredients To A Vitamix
Firstly, add all the ingredients to a Vitamix, starting with the liquid (non-dairy milk) first.
You can use fresh or frozen bananas which will give it different consistencies.
In addition, you can also add 4-6 ice cubes to make it extra frosty.
Step 2: How To Store Your Smoothie
Secondly, the smoothie won't really "store" well, as in for another day.
However, it is ready to transfer in your favorite BPA-free travel cup to take on-the-go!
Expert Tips + Ingredient Substitutions For Acai Berry and Banana Immunity Smoothie
Here are some expert tips to make this recipe perfectly:
Almond Milk. This recipe can be made with homemade almond milk using a Vitamix. However, you can always substitute with your favorite non-dairy milk. Another great option is to use Joi Organic Almond Milk made with 100% organic almonds.
Banana. You can use a fresh or frozen banana, but the smoothie will have different consistencies. For example:
- Fresh Banana - unless you add ice cubes, the smoothie will be thinner and drinkable through a straw
- Frozen Banana - the smoothie will be thicker and have a "smoothie bowl" consistency. You may need to add 1-2 tablespoons of extra milk for it to be drinkable through a straw
Frozen Acai Berries. I use the frozen Sambazon Acai Berry Unsweetened Smoothie Packs that I purchased from the frozen section at Whole Foods, but if you don't have access to a Whole Foods, you can also order organic acai powder to get some of the benefits of the acai berry.
Hemp Protein. I used the Nutiva Hemp Seed + Hi Fiber Protein which added 11 grams of vegan protein and 12 grams of fiber but you can use your favorite plant-based protein powder.
