Gluten-Free Vegan Banana Mango Superfood Smoothie
Here's why this recipe works - my top 3 reasons:
- Contains 3 different superfoods
- Ready in about 5 minutes
- Made with clean, real food ingredients
Contains 3 Different Superfoods
Summer just isn't summer without a delicious Banana and Mango Superfood Smoothie.
To make it even better, I added nutrient-dense superfoods.
For example, maca powder, camu camu, and hemp seeds with additional optional toppings of goji berries and chia seeds.
And don't worry if you don't have these exact superfoods on hand.
Just use the banana + mango base and add whatever superfoods you do have!
Ready In About 5 Minutes
You can make this smoothie in about 5 minutes using a Vitamix.
Simply add all the ingredients to your blender, blend everything together, and it's ready to enjoy!
Made With Clean, Real Food Ingredients
In this superfood smoothie, I didn't add any protein powder, (although Epic Organic Protein is my favorite brand!), but instead used my own combination of real food ingredients.
For example, ingredients such as coconut milk, hemp seeds, camu camu, maca powder and it's naturally sweetened with banana, mango and a couple of Medjool dates.
My healthy plant-based smoothie is raw, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, oil-free, contains no refined sugar, paleo-friendly, and Medical Medium compliant.
How To Make This Recipe: Step-by-Step Instructions
Here is how to make this recipe and I'll show you with step-by-step instructions below.
Step 1: Gather And Measure All Ingredients
Firstly, gather all your ingredients and measure them before beginning so you can make the smoothie quickly.
Step 2: Blend All Ingredients
Secondly, add all the ingredients to a Vitamix and blend until creamy and smooth.
If you'd like your smoothie to have a thicker "frosty" texture, add 6-7 ice cubes.
Step 3: Optional Garnish
Lastly, if you'd like to garnish your smoothie, some examples are chia seeds, goji berries, or even hemp seeds.
Expert Tips + Ingredient Substitutions
Here are some expert tips to make this recipe perfectly:
Coconut Milk. This recipe can be made with your favorite non-dairy milk. For example, either homemade almond milk or homemade coconut milk which can be made with a Vitamix. Another great option is Joi Organic Almond Milk, made with 100% organic almonds.
Banana + Mango. You can use fresh or frozen fruit, however, if you use frozen fruit, you may need to add a little extra coconut milk or the mixture will be thick and have the consistency of a smoothie bowl (which actually sounds really good!).
Camu Camu. I added this ingredient for the nutritional content, but if it is an ingredient you don't already have on hand, it is not necessary to buy it just to make the recipe. It can be omitted or substituted with another superfood powder.

Yum thanks. Try adding coconut flakes as well as coconut milk. I also blended the chia seeds.
Adds really good texture to the smoothie. Hope you try it.

Hi there Dean! Thanks for sharing your tips! I almost always add chia seeds to my smoothies because they have good fiber and keep me full longer. I also add coconut oil very frequently too, but haven't really been adding coconut flakes...will need to try that next time 🙂
Jeanette says
This sounds so good! I haven't tried maca powder or camu camu powder so I appreciate the information on both of them. The extra garnishes are a fun idea too!

Hi there Jeanette! Thanks so much and I hope you enjoy the maca and camu camu powders if you give them a try 😉
