This Chocolate Strawberry Almond Protein Smoothie is an easy and healthy recipe made with only 6 clean, real food ingredients. Add all ingredients to a Vitamix and blend until creamy and smooth.
Optional: Garnish with organic hemp seeds or organic cacao nibs

*Protein Powder. My go-to protein powder is Epic Organic Plant Protein and I used the Chocolate Maca flavor for this recipe. However, feel free to use your favorite plant-based protein in the same amount. In addition, if you need this recipe to be 100% Medical Medium compliant, here are some substitutions:
Omit the protein powder + add 2-4 pitted organic Medjool dates
Almond Milk. I like to make my own homemade almond milk with my Vitamix to avoid the additives and processed boxed milk, but you can substitute it with your favorite non-dairy (or dairy for non-vegan) milk. Another great option is Joi Organic Almond Milk which is made with 100% organic almonds.Strawberries. You can use fresh or frozen strawberries and I prefer to use frozen strawberries so I don't have to add ice cubes to make it frosty.Maca Powder + Hemp Seeds. I added these two ingredients to increase the nutritional profile, but they can be omitted.Almonds. I added the almonds to increase the plant-based protein, but you can omit them or substitute with (1) tablespoon of organic almond butter instead.
