Hello, I'm Karielyn.
I'm the published cookbook author of CLEAN DESSERTS, creator of the REAL FOOD VEGAN™ Meal Plan, and content creator of The Healthy Family and Home™ website since 2012. I specialize in creating easy, healthy plant-based recipes that are gluten-free and vegan and made with clean, real food ingredients that you can feel good about eating!

I’m Karielyn, the creator behind this space, The Healthy Family and Home™ website—and I believe food should be simple, healthy, and made from ingredients you can actually recognize. My recipes are 100% vegan, gluten‑free, and rooted in organic, real‑food ingredients because I want every dish to nourish your body, not just fill your plate.
I started this website after years of cooking for my family, learning how to make meals that were not only plant‑based, but also free from processed substitutes, refined sugars, and S.A.D. (Standard American Diet) ingredients. Over time, I realized something important: there are hundreds of thousands of vegan websites, but very few that focus on true real‑food cooking. Even fewer commit to organic ingredients. And almost none combine that with clean, wholesome desserts that feel indulgent without relying on processed shortcuts.
So I decided to build the resource I wished existed.

You won’t find vegan "cream cheese", vegan "mayonnaise", vegan "butter", fake meats, or ultra‑processed shortcuts here. I want you to feel confident that what you’re eating is as close to nature as possible.

Instead of relying on gluten‑free mixes or fillers, I create recipes that are naturally gluten‑free using whole, nourishing ingredients like almond flour and oat flour. This makes the food feel lighter, cleaner, and more digestible.

Desserts are my specialty. I’m the author of the published CLEAN DESSERTS Cookbook, and I bring that same philosophy to the recipes here: desserts made from real ingredients—never refined sugar, never artificial sweeteners, never processed vegan substitutes.
