This Gluten-Free Vegan Pecan Praline Ice Cream is an easy and healthy recipe made with only 5 clean, real food ingredients. It's a plant-based no-cook dessert recipe that can be made with a no-churn method or with an ice cream maker!

Gluten-Free Vegan Pecan Praline Ice Cream

My Vegan Pecan Praline Ice Cream recipe that I have for you today is only the beginning of a multitude of delicious vegan and dairy-free ice cream recipes I have coming your way!

Although I have many ready to roll out, I decided to make this one the first one I share this year.

You may have already tried some of my ice cream recipes from last year like Vegan Superfood Ice Cream, Vegan Black Forest Ice Cream (my favorite!),  Vegan Chocolate Chip Raspberry Swirl Ice Cream or Vegan Peanut Butter Swirl Ice Cream.

Like the others, this one is really simple to make with only a few ingredients, a Vitamix and an ice cream maker.

I used my regular base of organic coconut milk and an organic, unrefined organic sweetener and then used organic Medjool dates and organic vanilla bean powder for the "praline" swirl.

Once that part was ready, I added in chopped pecans.

Traditional ice cream, of course, is made with dairy and a list of other ingredients that really should be avoided.

S.A.D. (Standard American Diet) Haagen-Dazs Pralines and Cream Ice Cream Ingredients: Vanilla Ice Cream, Cream, Milk Nonfat, Sugar, Eggs Yolks, Vanilla Extract, Caramel Swirl, Sugar, Milk Nonfat Condensed, Corn Syrup, Water, Butter (Cream, Salt), Salt, Pectin, Flavors Natural, Baking Soda, Pecans Praline, Sugar, Pecans, Butter (Cream, Salt), Salt, Corn Syrup

This popular brand that I used for comparison contains GMO dairy (cream, milk non-fat, butter) and other GMO ingredients like sugar and corn syrup.

My healthier version is made with only 5 clean, real food ingredients and is "almost raw", vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, egg-free, paleo-friendly and no refined sugar.

    Equipment

    • Ice Cream Maker
    • Food Processor
    • Vitamix
    • Ice Cream Storage Container

    Ingredients

    For the ice-cream:

    • 1 can organic full-fat coconut milk (13.5-ounce can)
    • 1/4 cup organic unrefined granular sweetener

    For the praline mixture:

    • 1 cup organic Medjool dates (pitted)
    • 1 teaspoon organic ground vanilla bean powder
    • 1/4 cup water (filtered/purified) (filtered/purified)

    For the mix-in

    • 1/2 cup organic pecans (chopped)
    US Customary - Metric

    Instructions

    Prepare the ice cream:

    • Add the entire can of full-fat coconut milk and your favorite organic granular sweetener to a Vitamix and blend until it is mixed together well.
    • Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and prepare according to the manufacturer's directions.

    Prepare the praline mixture:

    • Add the ingredients for the praline mixture to a food processor and process until it has a thick consistency.
    • Start with 1/4 cup of water and add an additional 1/4 cup, if needed, to get a thick consistency. Set aside.

    Assembly:

    • Option 1: Soft-Serve Consistency - when the ice cream maker instructions indicate the appropriate time to add the "mix-ins", add the chopped pecans and then drop in the praline mixture, a spoonful at a time. Make sure you don't over-process it, you just want the praline mixture to "swirl" into the ice cream.
    • Option 2: Traditional Ice Cream Consistency - when the ice cream is finished processing, transfer it to the freezer-safe container you will be storing it in. Sprinkle in the chopped pecans and drop the praline mixture in by the spoonful. Take a knife and gently "marble" in the praline mixture so it's "swirled" into the ice cream. Cover the bowl tightly and place in the freezer for approximately 60 minutes, or until it firms to the consistency of your preference.
    • Store in an air-tight BPA-free container in the freezer.

    Recipe Notes

Vanilla Bean Powder: Can be substituted with organic pure vanilla extract in the same amount. If using vanilla extract, use alcohol-free vanilla extract to keep the recipe 100% Medical Medium compliant.
Serving Size: Nutritional information is calculated for 1/4 cup which is (1) serving.
